City of Stockholm Partners with FLOX Robotics to Ensure Clean Beaches All Summer with Geese Herding Drones

Stockholm, Sweden – June 17, 2024 – FLOX Robotics, a leading innovator in autonomous wildlife management technologies, is proud to announce a significant new contract with the City of Stockholm. This partnership aims to ensure clean, safe, and enjoyable public beaches throughout the summer by herding geese from these areas to nearby natural habitats. This initiative marks a significant expansion following last year’s successful pilot program.

The pilot project, conducted last summer over three weeks at Maltesholm, Sätra and Långholmen, demonstrated remarkable success. Using our advanced drone-based wildlife management system, we achieved remarkably high efficiency in guiding over 700 geese to designated natural reserves during the three-week period, significantly enhancing the beach experience for residents. The positive feedback from citizens and the media coverage underscored the effectiveness and appreciation of our solution.

Building on this success, the new contract will see FLOX Robotics’ drone-based wildlife herding technology in operation from June 17 to August 31, 2024 at three beaches – Maltesholm, Sätra and Långholmen. This initiative covers the entire summer season, providing a sustained effort to maintain beach cleanliness and water sanitation, thereby offering a win-win solution for both the citizens of Stockholm and the local wildlife.

“Our ‘No Geese as a Service’ uses custom-built technology applied on drones to effectively herd geese from popular beach areas. This method is both cost-effective and animal-friendly, ensuring that geese are safely herded to more suitable habitats without the need for excessive hunting,” said Sara Nozkova, CEO & Co-founder at FLOX Robotics. “We are thrilled to expand our collaboration with the City of Stockholm and look forward to a whole summer of clean beaches and happy residents.”
