Each year, thousands of crashes involving deer, elk, and reindeer lead to injuries, fatalities, delays, and millions in repair and operational costs. Traditional fencing and signage offer limited protection—especially in remote or migratory hotspots where animals appear unpredictably.
Since April 2024, the Swedish Transport Administration has been using Flox Edge alpha devices with our Wildlife Platform to protect some of Sweden’s most wildlife-exposed infrastructure. Deployed at multiple locations across the country, these systems detect and deter large animals in real time—reducing collisions before they happen.
In early 2025, the initiative expanded with additional devices placed at newly identified hotspots, reinforcing Trafikverket’s commitment to data-driven, proactive wildlife safety.
The deployment is ongoing and continues to grow as part of a nationwide strategy to improve traffic safety, reduce ecological impact, and ensure more resilient infrastructure.
